Compass Medical Waste Services recently donated R20 000 to iThemba Lethu, a transition home for orphaned and abandoned babies in Cato manor, in addition to last year's donation of R35 000. This donation will contribute towards iThemba Lethu's Family Integration Programme that will see the operation of two transition homes for babies, orphaned or abandoned, as a result of HIV/AIDS. This year in celebration of Madiba's birthday and his 67 minutes campaign, which he was most passionate about, employees from Compass Medical Waste Services rallied together to raise funds and food to donate to iThemba Lethu. "It is so wonderful to build a mutually beneficial partnership with intentionally charitable companies like Compass Medical Waste Services. We are so grateful to Compass for their sincere interest and continued support of the work God has entrusted us to do," says Karen Brokensha (Programmes Co-ordinator iThemba Lethu). Read more

Container Ministry

The Container Ministry is a Nonprofit and Public Benefit Organisation with an established network of over 140 trustworthy charitable organisations involved in caring for the needy, including care for abandoned, abused and vulnerable children and feeding those in crisis. The organisation operates in the eastern parts of South Africa and lower Mozambique. In June 2013, most organisations in South Africa were preparing for the potential passing of former South African president, Nelson Mandela. Compass was also one of these organisations and Ian du Randt, Managing Director of Compass, felt that the former president would want us to not only respect and mourn his passing, but to do something that would honour the legacy he left behind. Madiba loved children and so it was decided that 400 LIV wristbands would be purchased for Compass employees to wear at the time of Madiba's passing, thereby fulfilling his passion and vision for the children of SA, while at the same time continuing to support the relationship that Compass has with the children at LIV.
